Furniture Conservation Workshop

$80 per person limited to 6-8 per class. Classes run from 10-2pm, Morning tea and lunch provided. Participants will need to purchase a kit comprising of furniture reviver, shellac, wax, steel wool and polishing rubber at a cost of $145 to use on their item. The kit contains enough product to conserve around 12-14 larger items of furniture.
Participants to bring in an item to work on (pieces available to purchase if required) and will also learn other techniques by observing items being worked on within the class.
The course will enable you to conserve the original finish of your chosen piece, teaching the techniques of French Polishing and beeswax finishing avoiding the use of abrasives and stripping, saving hours of time and achieving far better results. The same techniques can then be used on other items you have at home saving the history and character which is so important. No prior experience is necessary.
